Senior ISS Officers Successfully Complete Training Program on Managing ICT Projects at Dr. MCR HRD Institute
“The Training Program on Managing ICT Projects”, sponsored by National Statistical Systems Training Academy, Central Statistical Office, Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, Govt. of India has concluded today, i e, on February 23rd, 2018. The training program, which was attended by senior Indian Statistical Service (ISS) officers from across the country, was conducted by Management Development Center (MDC) of Dr. MCR HRD Institute, Government of Telangana.
B P Acharya, IAS, Spl. Chief Secretary to Government & DG, Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, gave away participation certificates to the senior ISS officers.
B P Acharya, in his valedictory address, underlined the importance of collecting and analyzing authentic data for understanding the problems of different sections of population in their true and total frame of reference and also in designing, implementing, monitoring, and measuring various intervention strategies, programs, and reforms.
Continuing his address, Acharya said that the Samagra Kutumba Survey (SKS) data, collected by Government of Telangana, pertaining to 94 parameters, covering a whopping one crore four lakhs households across the State, was greatly helpful in formulating innovative schemes to alleviate the lot of weaker sections of society. In order to drive home the point, he gave the examples of the welfare schemes for destitute women, shepherds, beedi workers, etc., which were formulated by the Government by using the comprehensive data, thrown up by the survey.
Acharya said that on account of the access to the SKS data, the District Collectors have got the requisite information on their fingertips and they are using it extensively in order to improving the quality of governance.
“While Dr. MCR HRD Institute of Telangana has been imparting training to employee at all rungs of administrative hierarchy, it is keen to organize more number of training programs for officers at higher levels keeping in view their multiple beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders”, Sri Acharya added.
