Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) is to be inaugurated in November, CM KCR invites PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate it
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao has invited Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi to inaugurate the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project here. The CM wrote a letter in this regard to the PM on Thursday. Since the PM is participating as Chief Guest in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Hyderabad from Nov 28 to 30, the CM requested the PM to inaugurate the Metro Rail project (Phase I) during the period. The CM, in his letter, stated that the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is going to be the prestigious and biggest public transport system project in Hyderabad. The CM pointed out that Rs. 15,000 Crore project is the biggest project in the Public Private Partnership (PPP) project in the country. The CM reminded the PM, that an invitation has already given to the PM to inaugurate the project in last May 25 itself and desired that the PM should fix the programme this November.
Hyderabad Metro Rail Project is taken up with three Corridors for a 72 Kms distance. In the first phase, the section between Miyapur and Ameerpet, a distance of 13 Kms and Ameerpet-Nagole (17 Kms) is completed. Works on Stations has also been completed. Trail run has also been run successfully. All permissions required for safety have also been obtained. The government has decided to start these sections in November.
