Kaleshwaram Temple to be developed into a tourist hub, KCR announces 100 Crore
The historic Kaleshwaram temple on the banks of river Godavari in the dense Mahadevpur forest is all set to get a facelift with the Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao announcing a Rs 100 crore package for its overall development of the region.
The Chief Minister who visited the temple on Sunday as part of its visit to Kaleswaram project along with his wife made this announcement after performing a special pooja at the temple. He later participated in a review meeting with the temple officials. He instructed officials to procure 600 acres of land around the temple in order to develop it into one of the best tourist destinations in the state. A Rs 100 crore towards this would be allocated in the next budget, he said and asked officials to draw plans in this direction.
He further stated that Bharathi Teerthananda Swamy of Sringeri Sharada Peetham would be invited to launch the reconstruction works.
Further, CM has also stated that residential quarters will be built for the Archakas besides a Vedic school and a college. It will be an integrated complex. CM has directed the officials to set up a mesh facility at Pushkar ghats to avoid inconvenience to the public.
The local MLA Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy and MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao and others accompanied the CM.
